Talibah Safiya

An independent Soul Artist from Memphis, Talibah Safiya was chosen to be High Water’s new artist-in-residence in 2022. With new releases being made in February and March of 2023, Safiya’s records are the first commercial records by a local artist to be released by High Water in over 20 years. She began her musical career in 2011, releasing her first single in 2015. Since then, she has had the opportunity to perform throughout the United States. 

Safiya has also the opportunity to work with many major names in the industry including Cedric Burnside, the grandson of High Water's R.L. Burnside.
